Is Macaw a cloud dictation service?

No. Macaw starts local. Cloud processing is available only through a separate Cloud Transcription add-on and only when you select that engine.

Macaw is a desktop voice workspace for Apple-silicon Macs running macOS 13 or later. Local dictation uses NVIDIA Parakeet V3. Audio upload supports files up to 20 minutes. AI Polish and Cloud Transcription are optional paid add-ons.
